After the floods in 2007 which were devastating for so many residents in Forest Row, the Parish Council set up the Forest Row Flood Forum. The Forum has representatives from:
- The local community
- The Parish Council
- The Environment Agency
- Upper Medway Internal Drainage Board
- Southern Water
- East Sussex County Council
- Wealden District Council
The Chairman of the Forum is Dr Cheryl Scott a local resident whose house was severely flooded and who is motivated to ensure that all potential problems are investigated and resolved.
The Group has made headway and a large amount of drainage work has been undertaken by the Upper Medway IDB and East Sussex County Council. There is however a lot of responsibility on householders and landowners to ensure that water courses on their property are properly maintained, not only for themselves, but also for other people downstream.
The Forum meets every three months and has also set up a Technical Group to look at detailed issues.
