I moved to the village with my family 20 years ago, and my children went to local schools including Michael Hall, Forest Row Primary, and Sackville. I am an actor and musician, performing both locally and nationally, and I have also worked with special needs pupils at Sackville School, where my wife Angie is a teacher, and at Forest Row Primary School.
I have been a councillor for the last four years, serving on the Planning, Community Centre, Amenities, General Purposes and Traffic, and Relief Road committees, and have found this gives a fascinating insight into how decisions are made, both by local and national government, that affect our day to day life in the village. It appears that the Government’s new Localism initiative will offer greater powers to local councils, so this is an exciting time to be a parish councillor. My interests include the environment and the arts, and I am keen to promote and contribute to the activities that celebrate and enrich the diverse cultural life of this unique village. Improving provision for both older residents and the young must also remain high on the Parish Council’s agenda.
