PROFILE
I joined Sussex Police in January 2009, and since then I have been based at Crowborough. Before this I spent 23 years involved in Direct Sales, I enjoyed working in that job, but wanted a change of career. I was looking for a role where I could be out and about, helping and interacting with all the local community. In my spare time I practice Martial Arts and in 2004 represented Great Britian at the European Championships in Laido (Japanese Sword). I was based in Crowborough town and spent 12 months there before moving to the St John's area where I am now based. I find the role rewarding and varied, the day is never the same and there is always something new to learn. My day involves walking my area, talking to local people, and dealing with local issues and concerns. Its great knowing you're putting something back into the community and that people feel safe and secure knowing you are about.

PROFILE
I have been a Sussex Police Officer for nearly four years and have spent my time, except for my training, in north Wealden, working out of Crowborough police station. I have always been in uniform working as a response officer thoroughly enjoying the job, wishing I had joined years ago! Before joining as a police officer I worked in many different jobs including, South Wales Police for the Forensic Department, Transco Gas in an admin role, Battersea Dogs Home as a kennel hand and I attended Cardiff University, where I studied Genetics. I grew up in Sussex, so having lived in South Wales for a number of years I now feel right at home again working in Wealden. I have always been a busy person and am always on the go now, attending All Saints Church in Crowborough (when my shifts allow) and enjoy cycling, sewing, swimming, trampolining and catching up with friends. Soon after joining Sussex Police I realised I had a particular interest in working on the Neighbourhood Policing Team. This would enable me to spend more time dealing with the problems that matter most to the public and allow me to focus on the local community, giving me the time to listen to what local people's concerns are. So I am delighted to have now joined their team! I know I will find this a highly rewarding and am happy to be a part of the whole neighbourhood team at Crowborough and am really looking forward to working along side our Police Community Support Officers.
