The famous Queen Victoria Hospital is at East Grinstead. The 'general' side of this hospital has been established for over 100 years and is attended by the general practitioners of the area and their consultant colleagues. The hospital became famous for its wartime plastic surgery and still leads in this field in the treatment of burns, corneo-plastic and dental surgery. In addition there are large hospitals in Tunbridge Wells (Kent & Sussex), Haywards Heath (Princess Royal), Pembury and Crawley.
